Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Anyone have any recommendations on the best company to send skis to France with please? An idea of cost and timescale they arrived in would be handy too, if there is anyone in the know. Thanks.

Used them a couple of times. The website and on-line booking is really clunky and unfriendly, but phone them up and sort out what you need.
Ski bag gets collected about 7-12 days ahead of your arrival date, can be up to 30Kg, and is sitting at the hotel when you arrive. Return is as easy, just attaché the shipping labels and wait for them to be delivered home.
Cost wise for us is worth it as we have 1 bag with 2 sets of skis/poles, plus off-piste gear (probes, shovels etc) and a few extras like files and scrapers for the inevitable repairs. The other option involves paying for 2 sets of ski carriage on 4 flights; we have to fly from EDI to LHR to Grenoble and return.
Oh, there's a discount code for Ski Club Members and supposed to be one for Super SnowHeads too
