Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Chiesa Valmalenco

Hello

I wonder if anyone can help me with some info about this resort. I can't find very much about it at all. We are taking the family skiing for the first time for a few years in a group of several families
organised by a friend. I normally go in Feb to larger resorts and where there is more snow with a few friends. It looks like we have chosen the wrong year to all go together again due to the unseasonably mild weather. I have seen the four webcams on http://www.sondrioevalmalenco.it/02_webcam/05_zoia.html but don't see many skiiers rather disappointingly.

We fly to Milan in the morning - 27 December 2015. From what I can see there is not a lot of snow or terrain to ski. Any suggestions for other resorts nearby that might be worth visiting please? Alternatively non-ski things to do in the area appreciated as we will be there for a week - I will be climbing the walls if there is not enough snow or runs open to make it worth skiing every day.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

Aidan

No personal experience but it looks like all/most runs open - unless my translation's crap or they've colour coded in which case nothings open.

Not very big though!!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Chiesa is a small local resort for beginners /intermediates / cross-countriers that rarely gets busy.

Hire a car at Milan Airport and drive the extra 2-3 hours down the road to St Moritz in Switzerland or Livigno in Italy.
