Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Yes. Apparently they're getting people to spam ski forums with links.

this is a genuine question by the way... I in no way work for them! I also did a forum search for 'Bearz' and it didn't have any hits; is there other places that talk about this then?

So what do you want to know? I'd have thought any normal person who want's to know something about a product would at least ask something specific. Maybe you want to know if the lenses are any good? maybe you want to know which lens is best for all round use? do they fog up? will they fit with an xyz helmet with no gap? which versions best fits a large head? or maybe you want to know who's behind the company? where are they made? is the company profitable? what's their return service like?

It just strikes me as weird that somebody's first post on a forum doesn't show any real interest in the product being asked about and drops a generic link to a company's home page.

Still, people can be weird and no less so on snowheads.

Welcome to the forum.

After all it is free Go on u know u want to!
After a quick look around, here what I can say:

1. The bearz website doesn't give a physical address or even a proper phone number, just a mobile number.
2. The only person that sells them is on ebay and an amazon third party seller (same person).
3. The address given on amazon looks to me like a residential address, not a business address.
4. The seller also sells welding helmets, bicycle tyres, pop up tents for spray on tanning, iphone cases and camera bags. So not exactly a snowsports specialist.

So chances are they're cheap imports that a seller is branding to try and give his products some respectability. They're not something I'd ever see myself buying.

@olderscot, nice investigation. So my conclusion would be a brand to be avoided, not trusted with your vision and protection on a mountain.

Plenty of other cheap goggles around with a better reputation and likely aftersales support e.g. shopping at SportsDiscount, TKMaxx, Aldi, Lidl.

I hope this satisfies the OP's query.

OK thanks for the insight. I think i'm gonna pass. Just to clarify, as a general web search didn't show any information apart from that already on the website / amazon / ebay listings I was interested in hearing any and all suggestions / comments about them. My interest in the product is real, and the link was provided such that people would know what I was talking about. I think perhaps you have assumed a little too much my friend.

There site is built via shopify. Very quickly or recently put together as many shopify sites look a million times more professional than that. Needs many more things added. Where is there proof of "testing" really they should have some videos etc of the product in action, but they dont. Sounds like a home startup, goggles etc ordered via a Chinese manufacturer and re-branded. I may be wrong. Everyone starts somewhere.

If you are the website owner. Have the free delivery in a proper made banner, with your logo. It entices sales.

When i cant see delivery rates without clicking one more time, i leave.

Get some videos of them in action, help build link backs to the site.

Information on what lense does what.

Infact google about what SEO on your website is.

In my opinion this site is not ready to be launched in the current state. Maybe the products are good... but if that's the care taken in your site. The only place to hear about them, it doesn't inspire confidence in your product. Where are they made? China? This is what iv got from it, i even went on alibaba to find your goggles to see if it was the £3 per set ones. (i found similar)

Contact ski "reviewers" and send your newly developed product for testing/review and they can keep them/give them away once reviews are posted. (if they are as well made, as claimed they will get good reviews)

As they are, if you are not the site owner and really are the person wanting to buy these goggles, somehow you've magically came across then just now id say no. You'd be better off with a cheap pair of trespass goggles.

p.s. i know how hard new business startups can be so i was offering advice. Takes years to build any kind of brand. You'd be better off starting a cheap ski site with all the cheap as you can get Chinese ski stuff. Im sure theres plenty of people who will think "Oh EMM GEE!! Goggles for £3!" and give them a punt.

Hi everyone,

My name is Alec and I am from Bearz ski goggles project team.

I am excited to see that people are starting to talk about our brand on forums and I completely understand your positions. We are new, unknown, small start up brand and do not have that level of online presence and trust that our customers would want to see. We do not do aggressive online marketing and do not have famous riders in our team to promote the brand. We also do not have our goggles stocked by big retailers and shops and do not exhibit on the biggest ski shows. Our goal is to offer high quality modern goggles for affordable price, and so far I think that we are achieving this. It is our second year on the market and we extremely happy with the feedback we are getting from our customers. People love the design, colours and, what is more important, quality. I personally used frameles goggles of some of the biggest brands on the market and can tell, that Bearz goggles are not worse. Yes, they are made in China, as about 95% of all major brands, in fact at the same factory which produce for some big names. However, as we do not have huge expenses for branding and marketing we are able to offer affordable, same quality goggles. We are not claiming to be big or best. There are other brands, which we respect for the work they have done and the product they sell. However, we want you to pay for the physical product but "billboards and magazine banners". One day we may have more resources to promote our name and invest in marketing, but in no means we will be increasing the price to cover the expenses. Our aim is to give you 150£ quality for 39.9£ price tag. And this is achievable: the manufactured price of gopro camera is around 40$, but it is around 300£ in retail.

I appreciate the advice given here about our website and other things that we need to look at. I completely agree with everything and we will be taking care of this as soon as possible.

Finally, if you brave enough to ski in an awesome pair of goggles with 2 lenses for just 39.90£, give us a try and I am sure you will not regret. You can even grab a pair for 29.90£ on ebay, but without the second lens. To kill any concerns, we offer free returns and full refund if you are not satisfied, which has never happened. We did have a pair damaged during the delivery, but never returns for some quality issues.

p.s. there is no a single trespass model better than our Bearz ski goggles, not even close Smile Trust my 7 years snowboard experience.

well i wasn't expecting that reply. yes i agree with all the other points; for me now i have opted for other 'Safer' options. The real deal breaker for me was not having any real way of assessing the build / lens quality / how dark the lenses are / how far away from the face they are.

I think you need to focus on getting many more product images on the website, not just the stock photos as these never tell you anything. A youtube review explaining your USP vs everyone else would help too. The fact is that the biggest problem you have is getting people to take a punt with your goggles and there wasn't enough to convince me to do that. Correct this, and next time round I am much more likely to take your product.

Paid an extra £7 for a hard case and arrived with a free neck tube. Goggles and lens are good quality, fitment is great and they're comfortable to wear. For £40 I can't fault the goggles, will have to see how the lenses perform on the slope before I can fully endorse them. Bearz were also very helpful with my questions through their facebook page.

I've just seen these advertised as a "sponsored post" on Facebook.

What was the word in the end after using them on the hill?

I'm really tempted as I could do with some new goggles, but even though £40 is cheap, I'd prefer to put £40 towards buy some melons or something rather than a lemon. No pun intended.

I took a punt too and took delivery today. Always use Oakleys and can happily say that from first glance they seem excellent. Came with a free neck scarf and spare low light lense which also has a mirrored type style. Will give full review after use in two weeks. Delivery time 2 days too. Ordered via Amazon as colour I wanted was cheaper on there.

Mine have arrived (actually arrived on Saturday but I missed the post) and I'm very impressed so far. Also came with a free neck scarf and low light goggles.

I'm riding in Austria next week so will post my thoughts once I'm back.

Only small criticism is that there are no instructions for how to change the lenses, but a quick search on YouTube got me an answer fairly quickly.

Back from Mayrhofen, and I would recommend the goggles wholeheartedly.

I didn't use the low light lenses (in all honesty, I found it too difficult to change the lenses when I was sat in my lounge, so didn't want to attempt it on a mountainside - that would be the only downside to them I think) but the standard lenses were fine during a snowstorm or during bad light. They were also fine during sunshine.

In fact, I used them in the following conditions, and they were very good - blue skies and sun, cloudy, low light, whiteout, snow storm.

One caveat is that I only have an old (about 9 years old...) pair of O'Neil goggles (which aren't very good) to compare them to, but the Bearz were much better.

I'd recommend them, especially at that price.

Hi, I read this thread before buying a pair and tried them out in Cham Valley last week.

Pros
>Comfortable fit
>Big wide vision
>Oversize (which i like)
>Outside lens and inside mask has good vented anti fog (with one big flaw see below)
>Used both normal and low light lenses and both did their job well
>Look good
>Cheap!

Cons
> As someone has already said, the lenses are pretty hard to swap and I wouldn't fancy doing it on the slopes either, but I practiced a few times and I can do it in about 2 minutes now.
>Seem to scratch reasonably easily given that they claim to have anti scratch coating
>The big one! - mine managed to get some moisture between the two layers of lens, they are 'double glazed' and sealed so that water shouldn't get in. However, it did, and once it was in it was impossible to clear on the slopes. I did manage to clear it by leaving it on a radiator over night and it didn't happen again, but I would imagine it will next time they get a good dose of face plant snow or whatever.

Overall: I would recommend them for the price. They are much better than my dirty-dog frameless goggles which fog up all the time and let snow in the inside through the vents (the Bearz have foam to stop this happening). They were comfortable and the low light lenses were pretty good in bright sun too so swapping them over wasn't really all that necessary in changeable conditions. I am going to ask Bearz to send me a new lens as they should not have got moisture between the two layers so it could be a defective seal and I might have just been unlucky. So hopefully I'll be able to update with a review of their after sales too soon. Really decent goggles for the price.

I wore mine for a week in Cervinia last week, and basically never took them off, and this same "water in the double glazing" thing happened to me on the last day when there was a real snowstorm.

I would still recommend them though, as the water evaporated just like yours, and, well, they're great for £40!.

So far after sales has been excellent. Replacement lens is in the post (so I'm told) the day after I sent an email telling them of the water between lenses issue. Can't fault their customer service so far. They replied same day - ON A SUNDAY -. Hopefully the lens will arrive soon so I can give them another thumbs up! Very Happy

After sales has been superb. Replacement lenses arrived today (Thursday) after letting them know of the fault on Sunday. Excellent communication and customer service. Could not be happier with the way they have handled the issue, they didn;t even ask me to return the faulty lenses, just took my word for it which I value highly.

After this experience, for £40 you can't go wrong!
