Poster: A snowHead

I am trying to plan my last trip of the season .Going with my mate on 5 th to 12 th March.I can get flights on miles to Toulouse ,Milan,Zurich ,Milan or Friedrichshaven with BA.I ski and he boards ,we can tackle any piste , I don't do a lot of off piste due to dodgy knees.we don't want to go somewhere where there are no bars to go to at night.I like Madonna di Campiglio and was there with my family a few years about there didn't seem to be many places to go at night. I also like the thought of wagrain / flachau or the ski circus but haven't skied around there later than mid February.we don't need lots of nightlife. I just don't know where will be good at that time as normally ski new year,February or April school hols.
Would appreciate any suggestions.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

It's a pretty quiet time of the season, I think - and a great time to go skiing. I wouldn't make up my mind for ages yet - wait and see how conditions develope.

I would be cautious about Wagrain in March, and be aiming to go somewhere higher. In that area, sort of, I would consider Obertauern. Getting there from the airports you list, will not be so straight forward.
As HoneyBunny says, Ischgl could be a good option. Flight to Zurich and train from there. It shouldn't be so busy there during the dates stated. To avoid an overnight stop in Switzerland, I think the latest possible train from Zurich to reach Ischgl the same day leaves at just after 2pm.

I was in Ischgl last year during first week in April, conditions were very good apart from blue ice on the home run.I don't really want to spend any more than about £1000/1200 for a week in a hotel for two and looking on various hotel search engines there is not a lot decent around that price.I drove from Munich which was no problem whatsoever. It might be worthwhile booking flights and waiting to see where the best snow is this year and if hotel availability becomes better later on.I guess Munich or Milan might give me the widest spread of options.
