The Erna Low travel company is celebrating the 80th anniversary of its foundation in 1932. On youTube you can find various clips, including this one which concentrates on skiing.
My early ski trips to Austria (organised by the Edinburgh Scouts) were with Erna Low, the first in 1964 to Jochberg, so it is all a bit nostalgic for me

espri, thank you - that is just wonderful! My first, and the one and only, school trip was with Erna Low to Solden in 1965, we flew from London, West London air terminal on the Earls Court Road. Takes me bac.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

espri, espri, Thanks for this. Went on a school trip with Erna Low in the 70's, brought it all back, lovely wooden 'leg whacking' chairlifts etc. Is it me or does it look warmer than nowadays? Check out the guy's gogs at the end....classic.

I think my first trip with the school was sometime in the mid 60s when we went with Erna low to the Berner Oberland by train from Cambridge. I used to work with a protégé of Erna Low's, Marianne Bôle who was a founding partner of Schoolplan with John Bowden (later became Skibound). I think nearly all the school ski trip specialists of the 70s and 80s cut their teeth under her tutelage one way or another!
