Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Nevica Jacket

Anyone seen the Nevica Vail jacket? Would think that at the price it can't be any good but the specs seem OK. Perhaps I'm clasping at straws because 30 years ago when I started Nevica stuff seemed pretty decent.

Alternatively an recommendations for a bright orange jacket that won't break the bank much appreciated. Won't use on the coldest of days, I have a boringly coloured but functional Canadian jacket for that Smile[/quote]

Bought the black one last year. Worked well, no bother at all!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Bought the blue one last year (first skiing jacket, done one holiday + regular use a hemel so no basis for comparision).
My only real problem has been the zip on the internal security pocket - the zip pull is too small / fiddly. I ended up adding a cable tie so I could grip it - it's now broken 1/3 of the way along so I've had to stich that bit closed. Really only a minor niggle.
Our holiday was in March and the weather was warm. Didn't have any problems with sweat so the breathability seems okay. Did have to ski with it open when it got warmer. Didn't get any wet weather so can't comment on the waterproofing.
I was a little distressed to see Graham Bell wearing the same jacket on Ski Sunday, but also amused that the BBC appeared to have made him put a piece of black gaffer tape over the logo!

I love bright orange!

Decathlon have a soft type one for £50 http://www.decathlon.co.uk/evocarve-mens-ski-jacket-id_8344306.html?gclid=CKynnZ_UqckCFQTjGwod_M4CEA - I was tempted as a lightweight spare.

Afraid I chickened out and went for a Helly Hansen Swift instead although twice the price. Had a look at my local SD and tried the Vail and was pleasantly surprised. It was just a touch on the bulky side although I suppose that with use the insulation would flatten down. Seemed a bit of a cheek that they wanted 80 quid when was available for 64 quid in the flash sale.

Decathlon jacket looks great value for late season. I have a fair amount of their stuff and never a complaint. Possibly too tempting because Oxford store is very close.

@Posidrive, SD will match any internet price in a shop if you ask.
