Poster: A snowHead

Hi Folks,
Looking at some flights to Munich to then transfer to Mayrhofen, does anyone have experience with carrying skis via lufthansa. Their free baggage allowance allows items up to 148cm, I have a 2m double roller and therefore would have to pay an extra fee?
Any help much appreciated!
Cheers,
Al

@allybrown360, skis have always been free on Lufthansa for me, you just have to ring up their baggage hotline and book them on the flights.
However, this year they have introduced a new pricing structure with a higher pricer for hold luggage. I'm hoping this also includes skis as I have booked four Lufthansa flights for this forthcoming season.
I'll report back!

@queen bodecia, I've seen previous posts but nothing about the 148cm limit? I'm going to give them a call tomorrow and see what the situation is. Thank you for your help!

@andy, Cheers Andy, Do you know if there is a limit to booking the skis on the flight ahead of the date? Says 24hrs minimum, so theoretically I could book them in tomorrow and ask for email confirmation?

i'd do it as soon as practical, since on some flights/routes, they probably have a smaller quota.
last time I booked mine, I phoned them either the same or the next day.
