Poster: A snowHead

I have a small budget of around £150 and I'm looking for some stiffish freeride rather than freestyle boots. Anyone seen any bargains in size 44?
I know there is no substitute for trying on for size and I'm based in London so would be happy to visit some shops too. Most stuff that I've seen is more piste/park though.

Plenty of boots in that size and price range at Absolute-Snow.co.uk, and they've got a shop/warehouse in Hemel Hempstead so it's not exactly a million miles away.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

You've got a tight budget there, but with your foot size you could be lucky on the web but you really need to try on.....I'd suggest Dynafit, Black Diamond and Tecnica but it really comes down to fit/ foot volume etc so you'd need to try on for sure.

Thanks both. I'll do some web research and see if I can buy from a shop

@leggyblonde, They'll recommend you hard boots and you go see a PROPER boot fitter next
Joking aside, Seeing you're in Croydon, Edge & Wax (aka Bliss Snowboard) down in Partridge Green (nearish to Horsham) might be an alternative. They've got a store and they really do have boot fitters down there.

You may jest but the first pair of Malamutes I had really were stiffer than my ski boots of the time. Until the spine cracked and the outer generally disintegrated etc etc

If you are willing to compromise on firm flex a little for under a £100 I have some as new sz 11 .Pm for details if so .

Salamon Malamute or Synapse, Deeluxe Spark (or pretty much anything Deeluxe...). The high-end Ride stuff is good too.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Red ones are pretty good ...
Purple is better,
My favourites are yellow ones ... but fit is important as well.

Noticed that synapse are around near half price in a few sizes about £120
If you fit malamute boots well its probably worth spending more but synapse work well too, just not for as long .
