Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Xscape Castleford - Any Good?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I'm going away in Feb and have just had a back op and thought I might test the spine earlier by going to Xscape. Has anyone been and is it any good?

I went to Tamworth and wouldn't make the effort again, is this place any better?

All advice appreciated.

Cheers

Jack Hallam, I enjoyed my trip there. Some of the Castleford Lions will nbo doubt come on and advise the best times to go, and the ones to avoid.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Jack Hallam, Castleford is better than Tamworth. The quality of the snow is definitely better with fewer icy bits. The queues can be very long if there is only one drag lift working though. On the whole, it is better than Tamworth but still limited compared to the real thing.

Jack Hallam,

Bigger and better than Tamworth. Mrs Ax did a one-day 'learn to ski' session there a couple of years ago and it helped her get started.

Castleford is significantly better than Tamworth, although expensive and can get boring unless you have a purpose for being there.

Try and go in the evening early in the week to avoid the crowds (that's assuming you work normal working hours).

Anybody been recently? Myself and a few friends are planning going soon for a midweek daytime ski to ease the cravings.

Last time I was there only 1 lift was in operation and there was silly queues for it, but got to get a fix soon or I will go mad. Sad

I was there Mon night with Marc G from here, snow seems pretty consistant at Castleford, the odd firm patch, softer snow at the sides but all very skiable (even on one ski!)
