Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Schussing and lunching around the Sella Ronda ... a US scribe finds it "a bargain"

This review of the Italian Dolomites ski circuit - the Sella Ronda - should make fun reading for anyone who's intrigued by the area (it's one of the great scenic mountainscapes of central Europe) or has skied it before.

I've skied there a few times and loved it.

Here's Fritz Faerber's account, just posted on the ABC News Travel site.

He's impressed with the prices ... though admittedly in comparision with Vail this is no surprise!

One of the most amazing things about skiing in Italy is the price. Once you're there, it's a bargain.

An adult three-day lift ticket that covers 450 lifts throughout the Dolomites runs $120 (euro102) at peak season. (A similar length ticket at Vail would cost $234; euro200). A slice of scrumptious pizza and a half-liter of Ayinger Weisse Beer at the restaurant atop Ciampinoi runs about $7 (euro6).

Any other thoughts or reflections on the Dolomites?

Just returned from Canazei, did the Sella Ronda, definately the most beautiful mountain scenery I have ever been in.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I've been to Corvara on Sella Ronda for the past two years and plan to go again this year (despite breaking my ankle there last year!). I think the mountain scenery is the best I've ever seen, you can ski all week on different runs, the restaurants are brilliant and the people are wonderful - and there aren't too many Brits either!
