Last time i went skiing was about 6 years ago, and then i was wearing a size 11 uk boot. I havn't been skiing since then basically because of my foot size. I am now a size 17 uk, and would love to hit the slopes again.
I think you can all see my problem why i havn't been able to. I find it highly unlikely that anywhere stocks boots anywhere close to this size, so i'm probably out of luck there. I know that there are places that will custom make boots, but up to that size???.... i dont know. And what price?? Maybe £500 - £1000+??
I have looked all over ebay but not getting any specific results.
Obviously then i need skis, which i cant remember how they are fitted to the boot.
Anybody with any suggestions, please help. Thanks!
Size = UK = 17
US = 17.5
EUROPE = 53
CENTIMETRES = 36

I suggest you speak to a specialist bootfitter....and I do mean specialist.
Solutions4feet or Profeet.
Your ordinary snow&rock etc will not have the right contacts.
I'd expect that there is a boot out there, but you will need help tracking it down.
When we took a friend to Verbier who has size 14 feet he phoned every single shop there, and near there, nobody had anything that big. He did find one pair in the UK and took those.

Hahaha yes wish i could have surgery. Well surely some company could make them no matter what size, they should have the machines, tools & materials. I did see a place in london that custom makes, but cant remember the name.
I am in south wales, so really not many places around me as far as i know.
Any ideas where i could look for a boot if there was one already made?? I have checked ebay and american ebay, but not very specific, always coming up with silly results.
Where could i find a solutions4feet or profeet??
Maybe i should even wait to see if my feet grow anymore first hahaha, as i'm 21 now.
Thanks for the help

mattchamp, You could look at the two brands of custom/semi-custom boots that are available in the UK, Strolz or Daleboot.

The chap who runs solutions4feet posts regularly on this forum and will be able to give excellent advice.
On the off chance that he does not see your post you could try contacting the shop directly

Worth checking what the maximum boot size a binding can go to (I'm sure someone on here will know).
|
|
|
|
|
|
There is no maximum if you have a separately drilled toe and heel (non plate or track system) you might have to grind the rear screws a little if a thin ski.

Right this is very strange. I have just measured my feet (from heel to highest toe) and they are just 32cm long. This is strange because i had a quick look on conversion charts and it is saying that i should really have a size 13 uk foot.
Considering i wear size 17 work boots, 17 nike trainers, 16s in converse.
CM is the same as mondopoint, am i right?
So is there an explanation to this?
I have seen some 32mondo boots on ebay, so am i in luck?
|
|
|
|
|
|
My feet (UK 12) are just under 31cm. I currently wear a mondo 29 boot.

You know it makes sense.
|
@mattchamp, as i explained in the long e mail chain that we have had going backwards and forwards about this the size conversions for ski boots metric (MP) size and UK shoe size are completely out, the bigger the size the further out it gets you cannot directly convert an accurate metric size to an imperial size which was derived from the span of the hand and 3 barley corns
hope the boots you find on eBay are what you are looking for

Give Jules a call in Sanglard Chamonix +33 4 50 53 24 70. Best call before he closes for the summer. He fits on the world cup circuit where it is all about customisation and I reckon some of them have big feet. He will definitely be able to tell you what's best.

@mattchamp, I'ld make step no1 calling into any boot shop and getting them to measure your feet for a mondo size. If your off their scale you are in trouble. If you are on their scale then unless they are a specialist bootfitter take any measurement they give you with a pinch of salt (but it will only come down).
