Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi, we got great tips to ski Foppolo from fellow snowheads this year.! I'm hoping for a great tip for the 2016 season with a trip to be planned for the feb half term. We are a family of intermediates who enjoy on piste skiing with a nice italian après ski. Anyone any ideas for Italy within 2 hours drive of bergamo that would keep us going for at least 5 days? Thanks in advance

La thuile would fit, just in the driving time, excellent for intermediates and very quiet at half term.

The only thing that is not particularly good is the apres ski

there are a number of private apartments that are quite good value compared to planibel

Hi

Madesimo would also fit the bill, 2 hours from Bergamo with good skiing for intermediate skiers
and in the half-term period there is a little bit more apres ski in the village, well worth a look at.

I think transfer is about 4-500 euros car hire will be cheaper

If you are willing to invest 2,5h from Bergamo you could very well reach Cervinia (linked with Zermatt) also in the Aosta valley as Monterosa or La Thuile or Courmayeur. Or , to the North, Pinzolo/Adamello skiarea /Ponte di Legno (and even Madonna, also as a daytrip from Pinzolo). Cavalese and Dolomites are within easy reach. Bormio as well, but not in a snowstorm perhaps. I would say that driving to Champoluc is not much quicker than most of these, Cervinia competing with Monterosa for the largest resort in Aosta. Both are very nice anyway, but there are some high winding roads here & there.
