Snow and Fun and Hervis both back onto the nursery slopes. Gumpold is almost opposite these two on the main street and Rabbit Sports is only another 200m away. Hervis seem to be the cheapest, but a ski rental & ski-school package from Snow and Fun might be better value if you need lessons.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

We booked with Hervis as the cost was about 30% less than any of the others. Although I felt the kit we got wasn't great and the staff weren't particularly service focused (they didn't really do anything wrong, they just didn't seem very bothered at all and didn't actually say more than about 5 words to us!)
Snow and Fun did seem helpful when we went in to the shop and had a look round and it is likely that you will have your lessons with them. It's a small village so none of the shops are very far from the Ubahn.

We've had good experiences with Snow and Fun for both lessons and hire, and would recommend them. The kit is OK, and the service is pretty good even when they are very busy. Think practical service rather than personal service, and you won't be disappointed. If you want something specific, try Intersport Breitfuss just off the main street - from the shop, a 40 yard walk takes to you a lift which arrives at the bottom of the U-bahn.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Just remembered this... We travelled with Neilson, who deal with Snow and Fun. We'd already booked with Hervis, but I noticed in the welcome pack that Snow and Fun will change your skis for you as often as you like, so you can actually try a range out. I know other shops do this, but I think it's usually only if you go for the top package.

I my experience, almost all of the rental shops in Saalbach and Hinterglemm will allow you to change your skis a couple of times without charge - as long as you are genuinely trying to find the right skis rather than just taking the P.
