Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I will be using an indoor slope (Tamworth) once a fortnight for 3 hours. Should I use my all-mountain skis or should I get a set of skis specifically for indoor use?

Since the snow is mostly smooth, I shouldn't have thought that all-mountain skis were best for indoors, something more like slalom skis would be better. That said, I mostly do use my all-mountain skis at Hemel (unless I'm having a lesson focussing on edge angles, when I usually use Hemel hire skis) because I like the familiarity of my own skis, knowing how they will perform and getting used to their quirks for the next time I'm on real snow. (I am no expert, no doubt one will be along shortly.)
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@BobG
, Are you doing a course ?
If so that may well dictate what skis are best.
If it is just general skiing then you could get away with the all-mountain skis but to be honest a secondhand pair of slalom (SL) skis or possibly some SX skis would be a good investment.
It can get quite firm to icy indoors as the snow is scraped and pushed so good edges are a must and the rentals will have crap edges.
Lastly you will need to give the edges a quick once over as soon as you feel the edge is not biting. This could be as frequent as every week. You will find it useful to wax the skis after every visit if possible.
So if you don't know how to do either then worth learning, and buying some tools.
Others who are familiar with Tamworth will hopefully give you some more advice.

Hmmm. Herein could lie the clue as to why I don't ski like a god. Possibly.
