Poster: A snowHead

Hi there
I am thinking of going to one of the Slovenian reports for a long weekend at some point this season, and am currently looking at Krvavec, since this is near the airport Easyjet fly to. Does anyone have any experience on this resort? I have heard that queues can be an issue due to weekending locals, but are they really that bad? Also, any tips on accomodation?
I'd also appreciate anything anyone has to say about any other Slovenian resorts.
Cheers, and happy new year!
Anthony

Hi, where can I see the Women's FIS on tv this weekend? Not that I know what the women's FIS is! And is this Maribor or Krvavec we're talking about? Currently doing the same as antpj, looking at a weekend skiing in Slovenia. Thanks!

Krvavec is ideal for a weekend trip. Its only about 20 minutes from Ljubjana airport. Only down side is there is very little accomodation close by so best bet would be to stay in Ljub and taxi or hire car out.
its probably the busiest of the slovenian resorts around there due to closeness to the capital, but that mean busy by slov standards which means quiet by swiss /french standards. Its also reasonable big by slov standards (which means its quite small but not too small, ideal for a weekend visit plus good range of blue red and black slopes.
Slov has lots of little resorts, if you are going for any length of time or are not a complete beginner you need some transport to get some variety. That said , its cheap, friendly, quiet and well maintained slopes all round.
BTW Women's World cup rowatever it is has a round at Maribor (North East Slovenia) the mens have a round at Kranska Gora (North West Slov). never been to Maribor but the the Podkoren run at KG is a blast, despite KG not been that attractive a resort overall.
