There stuff is pretty decent. Also they do ski pants with a REALLY nice feature, you can shorten the legs. I'll work out which ones they were and post a link.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@dan100, for mid-January, I might be tempted to go for something more substantial (snow-skirt etc) but for Easter, I would say they'll be fine. Our kids are fully Decathloned up - jackets, pants, gloves, helmets, base layers etc. It's good gear. On the French slopes it is worn by more kids than not, in my experience.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@NickyJ,
I've just got some of those for the mushette in orange. She's very happy with them.

When I bought them I didn't even realise they had that feature - they were slightly long on her but the best fit left in store / stock as they didn't have huge amounts of choice left. I discovered it when I got home and really pleased. They will be tested in earnest in 17days (not that I am counting or anything )

and plenty of adults too. Good stuff. I bought some of those trousers with adjustable length legs for one of my grand-daughters, they seem excellent. I wouldn't go for anything more fancy for January - just add some light layers, merino if the kids will tolerate them (some find them itchy).

A word of warning - the Decathlon brands are sized for skinny kids. Adults, too. I am a size 10 - 12 and invariably need size L. None of my grandchildren is remotely fat, in fact they are mostly fairly skinny, but I always size up. I just bought a pair of Large tights for cross country skiing and they fit my 37inch hips like a glove. I wouldn't want them any tighter.

I've got the adult version of the ski trousers and no complaints at all.

The jackets are in fact so prevalent on french ski slopes that for kids I try and add some additional obvious colour so I can recognise them more easily!

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

My experience with all the cheap Decathlon kids stuff is it is not warm enough nor waterproof enough for cold conditions. The last Wed'Ze jacket we bought the tot was around 80 euros. I would love to spend a tenner on a ski jacket but I would suffer soooo much moaning about the cold it wouldn't be worth it. YMMV.

Thanks david. Taking the view it will be Easter and they can layer up if necessary.
