Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

The avalanche forecasts published by MeteoFrance used to be graphics images that couldn't easily be translated by, for example, Google Translate. However, they seem to have changed to using text that you can now pump into Google.

For example, here's the current page for the Vanoise:

pam w, I guess that was one of the reasons for the original decision.
Given the marketing emphasis on Freeride, essential avalanche info should be properly translated.
I asked the Chamonix Tourist Office last year where the avalanche info was available in English. I was told to go the the guides bureau. They added that they felt it should be available online but was not.
