Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Finland Ski Resorts

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Good afternoon,
I am from Argentina but living in the UK now. I am planning to travel with the family to Lapland Finland for Christmas time. But since it is quite expensive and the girls love to ski i was wondering if close to Rovaniemi i can find a ski resort for them. My husband and myself do not Ski so it has to be a place with activities for us as well.
Thank you very much fo your advice
Clarisa.

@Clarisa Ayllon, Levi. It's an easy [and beautiful] 2.5 hour drive north from Rovaniemi. Cars come well equipped, studded winter tyres. Levi has the best downhill skiing in Finland and there is a whole host of other activities like husky sledding, snowmobiling etc. personally, I'd fly into Rovaniemi or Kittila or get the train overnight from Helsinki to Rovaniemi - hire cars can be picked up at the station. Also, it's not expensive compared to French or Swiss alps. -30 or even -40 is not uncommon in December - that's the only downside for many although I quite enjoy it.

www.booking.com has loads of places in Levi and you will get a much better deal doing DIY than going with a tour operator because they really load the prices for peak weeks.

Santa Claus land in Rovaniemi is over commercialised and false. I'm not sure the kids believe it all now.

Suggest doing a package with Inghams as you fly straight to Kittila and it's only 20 mins to Levi where you have everything their.

flights from Gatwick, Bristol & Manchester, I think they may do alternative airports for mini Xmas breaks but it would be cheaper to go for a week than a few days.
