Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Transfer help!

New to site, Hello all!
Cut a long story short, missing my flight to Chambery and transfer to Val Thorens in the morning due to being stuck on a North Sea oil rig for 3 days (f**kin snow of all things). Determined to get there and meet up with pals so have found a flight to Geneva on Sunday pm. What I'd like to know is what are my options when I get to Geneva for my onward journey to Val Thorens? Answers/help would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Big Evs.

Big Evs,

Welcome to snowHead

The first thing I would do at the airport this end is to try and find like minded skiers and see what arrangemnets they have made,
or look for ski reps in Geneva which may have a change-over day and therefore jump on their coach, failing that you may be able to get the coach to say, Moutier which is the gateway to all the 3V's resorts, then you should be able to get a bus up the valley from there.
Failing this a private taxi which will be expensive or hire a car, ditto...!!

But there may be independant travellers in the same boat who will car share

Try www.a-t-s.net. They are very reliable and recently even waited for my flight which was delayed by 2 hours...

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Big Evs, Just find a coach from a major tour company and bribe the rep with a few quid to turn a blind eye as you sneak on. Don't ask for permission outright as that may then make them liable.

Cheers for replies,
Sunday looks like a quiet day for the major travel operators in Geneva so no reps to bribe for bus seats. Fortunately there is a ski bus service which operates from the info desk. Got the bus to Moutiers then everybody off and into individual taxi's for their onward journey. We copped Jean Alesi's father I think wink . What a lunatic! Got into resort about ten where our friends greeted us with the obligatory bottles of vin rouge, quality.
Thanks again and happy hols.
Big Evs
