in Les Arcs anyway... (417k photo)
Taken from down in Bourg St Maurice just before lunchtime...
Clouding up very quickly now, so we're about to find out if all the foreguesses of 45cms of snow were accurate for a change!!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

PG, I do notice some cannons all the way down the left of the piste though! However, yes - same here. Lower is better, except for the glacier which is MUCH too cold!!

Can't see the snow coming down because of the long exposure used in the photo (just taken), but so far there's a good 15 cms of powder down in Bourg... heaviest falls forecast for tonight, showers on and off for the next few days, very welcome.

Hywel, the roads could be pretty treacherous - a good 25cms so far and it's probably snowing well down the valley.
Just watched van full of seasonaires (Brits?) charging up the road at a good 40mph, towing a couple of skiers . Well, at least they were wearing helmets. They negotiated the 'sleeping policemen' pretty well...

The snow is melting rapidly and a load has just fell off our roof - onto my car
