Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Question on topic for Adult minder

Poster: A snowHead
Adult minder for novice young boarders wanted.
Not seen anything like this before on Snowheads – but would it be OK to start a thread asking for a chaperone to ski with a couple of young lads (learning to Board) for a few hours on some days when out of ski-school, whilst their Dad skied higher up the mountain. Maybe it’s the sort of thing that a Seasonnaire or older teenager would do to earn a bit of extra cash? Very Happy
Would it be PC as not looking to get critical replies of Dad being selfish, because that’s not the case. I’m not the parent by the way.
What do you think?

Yes, I'm sure it would be OK provided there was absolutely no question of the chaperone doing any coaching. But where and when?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

My immediate reaction is that I'd want some sort of indication that the chaperone had the experience and common sense needed to do the job. If I didn't know the person pretty well, I'd want them to be a ski instructor, I think.

Pollyperks, I don't see a problem from the snowHead point of view, bit of an odd request though! Oh, and it says in the T&C's that we don't take any responsibility for stuff you learn on snowHeads, so be careful!

Thanks Everyone. More details then:-
Its for 2 boys aged 12. One a good and resonably experienced skier and other 1st time on snow. Both are learning to board however and have had dry slope lessons in UK.
Les Deux Alpes from Wednesday 4th next week. Everyone's comments taken on-board, so no coaching or anything like that. Just someone who has a responsible attitude who can stay close by and communicate effectively.
Days and times by agreement (work around ski lessons). If anyone intrested or wish to offer further advice please either PM me or reply here. Dad is not yet registered here on Snowheads so I'll pass on details.

Pollyperks, There are 4 or 5 snowheads including me in L2A at the same time myself included I wouldn't be prepared to supervise the boys on my own but would ski as part of a group with the boys included, I have done that before where we had 8 children with 6 adults. It may be worth contacting easiski she may be instructor based in L2A she may be able to provide details of schemes that are already in resort that you can use.

Russell, Thanks for that. Dad has booked their accomodation via Easiski's recomendation and has raised the point. I will also be there and have seen that you are from Easiski's snow thread. Might see you if we do all meet up.
