Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Razecat ES2000

 Poster: A snowHead

Hi Guys,
Anyone know if it is possible to use the razecat ES2000 for base bevel? I have seen a breif picture on youtube that seems to show the machine dooing the base bevel, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to set the machine for this and also how to maintain the correct angle by stabilising the machine.
Not sure if it's just me being thick or if the machine is only able to do the side bevel.

Many thanks

It's a side edge angle only tool. Can't see why you'd want anything so aggressive on your base edge angle, even if using a very fine belt. Far more accurate/easier/safer to work on the base edge with a hand tool/guide.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks spyderjon, I think I was probably presuming that a machine costing this much may be a dual purpose machine. It doe's a phenomenal
job on the side edge, using the 1000 grade ceramic belt to finish. I think I'm just being lazy, why do it by hand when a machine can do it for you?

Once a base edge angle has been set you shouldn't touch it other than burr removal with an alu-oxide and an occasional polish with a fine diamond.
