Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

scott mission rtl plaque

I am thinking of buying some Scott Missions as an all mountain ski and there are some for sale from Glissop.co.uk but they are the Scott Mission RTL Plaque with Salomon L10 bindings. Does anyone know what the RTL Plaque means and are these different from the standard Missions?
I am a good intermediate/advanced skier and want a ski that will be good on + off piste and was also wondering about getting some marker tour bindings to go to give me options for touring, though I have never done this so far. I am 186cm 75kg and was thinking of going for the 183's so again any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

@boardman, Its got a set of salomon rails on it, like smart trak that goes with the z12. So the rails are screwed on to the ski, you would need to get them taken off and the holes plugged. Mission is a pretty old ski now and these seems to be the selling off of a rental version???

Thanks I did wonder whether that was the case. Think I will go for the Scott the Ski instead which seems to be the replacement.

@boardman, I have some Missions circa 6 years old and they certainly didn't have a rail system so they do sound like rentals. I moved onto a Venture a couple years ago and cannot fault them as an all-rounder. Great on and off piste, charges through chop and crud. They became the Adventure this year which I understand basically replaced the Venture and Crusade so maybe a bit stiffer but as I went for the Venture as something more robust than the Mission it would be worth looking around for a deal on a Venture. I think 'The Ski' has more of a piste bias albeit it is still an all-rounder.
