Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Evasion Mont Blanc - 17th -23rd Dec

Just a quick review of last weeks pre Xmas trip,

Sat 17th Dec - St Gervais

Arrived in St Gervais for skiing at 10.30 to find good coverage even at gondola station. Skied the St Gervais side of the resort for a warm up day, good conditions on the piste, visibility variable, with a rapid temp. drop in the afternoon.

Sun 18th Dec - St Gervais – St Nicholas

Woke up to a couple of inches outside the hotel at 500m. Spent the day skiing powder in the St Gervais – St Nicholas area. Well over knee deep in most places, even on the piste’s (most of which had not been bashed – Thanks ). Visibility reasonable – cleared up as the day progressed. One of the best days skiing in a long while.

Mon 19th Dec - Combloux - Le Giettaz
Forecast was for a very cloudy day, so headed over to Combloux, and skied across to Le Giettaz (linked last year). Never skied this area before, good combination of runs, some challenging blacks hidden amongst the rolling reds. Weather cleared up at lunch, so the afternoons skiing was very enjoyable, with breathtaking views back across to Megeve / Mt Joly.

Tues 20 Dec - Les Houches

Had a real blast skiing these pistes again, superb conditions on the piste, very compact with a slight icy edge in places.
Coffee stop on the slopes whilst watching the ‘British Ski Academy’ kids training.
Had a small mishap on the ‘Kandahar’ resulting in a very quick and painful landing, but it turned out to be the only one on the week.
Sat out in the sunshine to eat outside, following by a leisurely afternoons cruising.

Wed 21st Dec - Les Contamines

Nice bruise appeared on hip from yesterday, so had a reasonably cruisy day, just blasting down all the rolling red runs. Again lunched outside in the sun.
Couple of black/ off piste runs at the end of the day

Followed by a night out in Chamonix

Thurs 22nd Dec - Megeve – Cote 2000

Feeling fine so had a quick blast across to Cote2000 from St Gervais, couple of runs down the women’s downhill course, then back across to Megeve for lunch (outside again), Spent the afternoon playing in the moguls under the Mt Arbois gondola

Fri 23rd Dec - St Gervais – St Nicholas

Last day, so had a early start and tried to cover as much ground as possible, skied Mt Joux / Megeve / Mt Joly the down into St Nicholas – returning to the Igloo for lunch (outside again), then Princess / Megeve before retiring for the day. Pistes did get a little polished as the day progressed with ever increasing numbers of skiers appearing, but it was the start of the Xmas period.

Overall a very enjoyable week’s skiing, superb conditions, both snow and weather could not have been better. Looking forward to returning in the near future.
