Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Very cool vid! We're off to Poland at the end of March, although will be firmly en-piste (if the weather is kind to us of course) as beginners!

Assuming you know the Tatras well (apologies if I'm incorrectly assuming that), any tips on where to go?

We were thinking of Białka (which we really liked and it has a carpet lift!! but the non-skiing in-laws found a but dull), Nosal (which is a bit limited, even for us) or maybe nearer the Harenda lift (which we've not tried). I like the look of Rusin Ski in Bukowina too, but without a car it looks too awkward to get around.

@vjmehra, If I were you I'd try Kasprowy Wierch (http://www.sunshineworldpoland.com/html/ski_poland.php#KASPROWY), Białka Tatrzańska as you said and perhaps Szymoszkowa (http://www.sunshineworldpoland.com/html/ski_poland.php#SZYMOSZKOWA). If you have any questions, let me know.

We're not good enough for Kasprowy Wierch yet unfortunately, Szymoszkowa may be a better bet, plus of course Białka. Hmmmm decisions....

We just got back from Białka, although half the group spent most of their time skiing on Szymoszkowa rather than Kotelnica...we stayed in Bania as it was a lot more baby friendly than the alternative! Unfortunately the drag and carpet lifts at the bottom were shut for most of the week so my wife didn't get to ski, but the snow was fairly consistent and I managed to get out a bit every day!

I was thinking of Slovakia next, but the in-laws are fairly keen to stay in the motherland, so Poland it is again!

We'll probably go 3 times, Christmas, Easter and once mid-season, presumably in Jan/Feb we can pick anywhere (am thinking maybe Szcrzyk) but for Christmas or Easter, we are limited to the same slopes as the others are likely to be shut (by the same I mean Białka & Szymoszkowa)?

Also just wondering if you'd ever been to Kluszkowe (Czorstyn Ski), if so do you get good views of the lake on the way down, would it be worth a weekend trip, or is it just too small and maybe worth a day trip from Białka or Zakopane?

Sorry for the multiple questions, but it's so hard to find info on Polish resorts!

I hope you enjoyed it anyway:)
As for your questions:
1) I think Slovakia has a better resorts in terms of quality than Poland. Slovakia also has Euro which means skiing there is more expensive. Nowadays many Slovakians are acutally skiing in PL, coz it's cheaper. Personally I'd give it a try- that might be an interesting experience.
2) As far as 3 ski-trips are concerned- sometimes Christmas are not white at all (for example this Christmas was a disaster in terms of skiing). If I were you I'd go to Szczyrk in Jan/Feb (snow is pretty certain at that time) and the Tatra mountains for Easter. Szczyrk is right next to Wisła and you'll find something proper (I'd recommend Cieńków, Soszów or Czantoria for longer runs). I live near by Szczyrk so if you wanna go there I can give you specific info.
3) I've never skied in Czorsztyn, so can't tell you much, but, it's worth to see Pieniński Park Narodowy next to Czorsztyn.

Cheers

Yeah, I like Białka, it's small, but a nice little town, I suspect we'll go back there a few times!

Slovakia does seem a fair bit more expensive, but as you say it looks good, Jasna seems to look particularly interesting!

If we get out to Czorstyn at some point I'll post a report Happy
