Poster: A snowHead

Hi, we're planning a weekend staying in Morzine...my Mum is coming to help with childcare and would like to get to the new swimming pool in Avoriaz but won't be skiing...is it relatively easy - just a bus and cable car? Thank you! Can't seem to find the answer anywhere.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

@starlight21, Yep, shuttle bus from various stops around Morzine to Prodains. Then up the bubble. Pedestrian passes available.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly, would you say it would be easy with a reasonably well behaved toddler?!

You'd be better off with the bus and cable car as described above

Although Aquariaz does have a play area for smaller children, it's more geared towards the older and it would be quite a trek for your mum to get there (10 mins bus, 10 mins gondola, walk through Avoriaz, plus time waiting for the buses at either end, I would have thought at least 30 mins each way) and its not cheap. There is a relatively new swimming pool in Morzine itself which, for a 30-45 minute splash might be just as good an option, with a baby pool and a beginners pool. I've not been to that pool myself, I am sure one of the Morzine locals can say more about it.

Yep - it's down under the swaying bridge next to the Super Morzine gondola station. Think there's a lift and stairs down on the S-M side or just steps the other side.
One thing to watch for is your changing cubical choice - it was pointed out to us by out host last year that you can actually look down in to the cubicals on the back wall from the bridge!
The free bus from Morzine to Prodains is also a normal bus, not an everyone-standing ski bus so quite comfortable for them (actually more comfortable than for skiers!) to head up to Avoriaz, to meet you for lunch one day for example.
