Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Meribel, Les Allues - Villages piste

Any advice on the villages piste would be greatly appreciated.

I'm off to Les Allues for half term week, driving down, so "yes, I'm a glutton for punishment by queues!"

When I get to Les Allues, is there any chance that Villages piste will be open - I notice that is hasn't yet opened this season and was hoping to see it open after the recent snowfall. If it doesn't open, is it a skiable track anyway?

Skied home on it an hour ago. It has been groomed but is not open officially as there a couple of small holes in it.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks @snowrider, for the update - I hope the holes don't grow in the next week.

We stayed in Le Plantin last year and there was a track (unofficial piste) which we skied back on most days. They seemed to groom the track every week or so, or when there was fresh snow.

@snowrider, great to hear the run is useable even if not officially open!

Any update on how this is looking so far this season? Staying in Les Allues next week and was hoping for a ski-home experience

We'll be there too danc_ie - our first stay there (after several stays elsewhere in the 3Vs) so really looking forward to that.

Looks as though the FL will be up to about 1600/1700m on Sat, with some rain Sad ....but then dropping to very low levels (600m and lower) from early next week - with a big dump of snow down to Les Allues Very Happy.

We may get on that piste home yet!!

Gonna be cold though - could be looking at a rather chilly -20C on the tops Shocked.
