Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

more snow before New Year?

I am off to Chatel on 28th for New Year. Snow conditions look good at the moment but even snow-forecast.com isn't promising any fresh snow in the next 3 days.

Has anyone seen a weather map that indicates whether there should be new snowfall in the next week or so?

cheers

Tony Lane, nothing significant on the horizon for Chatel. High pressure is expected to build over the UK, pulling siberian air down across Europe and possibly the UK too, it just depends on the position of the High, the further North the better.

If it goes as far North as it did on this morning's run then a depression might well slide across from the Adriatic and give Italy and the Southern French alps a bit of a pasting.

Difficult to call at this stage, as the models are struggling with the positioning of the high.

brian,

I know you have probably done this on numerous occasions but can you point me in the direction of a web page explaining the different weather models used and a bit more info about this sort of thing.

NorthWestFace,

http://www.wetterzentrale.de/wz/topkarten/

has all the charts you'll ever need.

Explanations are a bit harder, you could try the forums at http://theweatheroutlook.com/forum or http://www.net-weather.co.uk/forum or failing that a bit of googling. Any questions give me a shout and I'll stare blankly and mumble a bit Laughing
