Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Edge and Wax

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I've read a few threads on here and The Piste Office guide about edge and waxing, and i'm pretty set on just doing it myself, with a bit of help from my dad and his gear (although he does have different views of edge angle).

There was a couple of questions that are still pondering in my mind really.

1) Should I change the edge angle to 87* as Spider Jon recommends or keep it at manufacture 89*
2) I'm a bit scared about all this side wall planing, does anyone really do it?
3) I was thinking about getting the Skiman file guide and clamp, (and this will sound stupid) but just want clarity on how I actually set it up. Does the file sit in the notched out groove?

Any other tips would be appreciated.

1). 87* is great, and I have it on all my skis, and jr's.
2). It may seem a bit daunting at first, but its quite straight forward. And, yes, you most likely will need to plane back a little to get the file to "cut" at 87*. You are doping it right when you start getting nice thing, long spirals of sidewall.
3). LOTS of you tube clips

I take it when someone talks about a 87* angle it's the same as when others talk about a 3* angle, and a 89* is the same as a 1*?

HI, I would really love some help with waxing my brand new board. I'd never done it before about half an hour ago... first I sprayed a little eco base cleaner on a rag and rubbed it over it quickly, then I melted the wax over it and spread it out with the iron and I'm leaving it to dry now...have I done anything wrong? please help.....thanks Smile
