ok ok so this has probably been done to death
i guess a few directions to threads discussing what lens etc woudl be ideal
I bought Oakley and lost the paper work naming the lens- at the time I was looking at so many I cant decide what lens i have--it is for variable light- and odesnt do that bad for flat light- looking at the back of the lens its more orangy/pinkish and the front has a reflective coating with a blue purple tinge..........NAME THAT LENS?!
thanks
Vis
ps any tips for flat light? HI Blue seems to be most peoples choice I have talked to.

this was one such thread http://www.snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=10958&highlight=oakley+lenses
The lens sound like High Intensity (HI) Persimon (did I win? ) If so it is a very good all round colour - cuts out enough glare to use in bright weather and gives good visibility in flat light. My new flat light lens is pink iridium, I haven't tried it out myself, but it comes highly reccomended by a pro I know.

VR28 is my guess, if persimmon isn't right - persimmon's what I use in both m-frame glasses and o-frame goggles

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

vis, HI Blue (which was actually yellow ) was certainly Oakley's best low/flat light lens. It's now been replaced by the HI Yellow (no surprise there) which is as equally effective.
I'm with stuarth in thinking that you've got the HI Persimmon.

I was answering the first query as to which lens vis currently owns.
But yep. It's a good compromise lens. I ski with my A-frame Blue Iridiums under all light conditions.
Sure it's not going to be as good as the Hi-Vis Blue, or Persimmon for flat light, but I seem to cope with it OK under flat light conditions.
Just feel what the ski is doing on the snow. Use your other senses when vision is not available!
