Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Pretty much as the thread title. Her indoors may have the opportunity to ski there in a few weeks time. It's an area we know nothing about so any info is welcomed. Also i believe the accomodation may be in Bad Ischl (sp). On google maps it looks like a bit of a trek between the two locations.

Thanks in advance for any info. G.

Try bergfex.com. Think Crystal go to Gosau there this year as well.

@HutToHut, and @flangesax, . Thanks for the prompt replies. Had a quick look at the webcams and conditions there look pretty good and it was snowing there when i checked. Nice tree lined runs....... reminded me of some of the lower runs into Kitz Very Happy

Yep, plenty of trees, it is truly stunning. Conditions are top - according to my girly mates and their FB updates. Ange

I love the place, have skied it on the 1st of April in knee deep light powder, and hiked it during the summer. Haven't made it across this season but I'll back up Ange's comments.

It must have been last year that Crystal went to Gosau, which is at the foot of the skiing.

We've got a place in Dachstein-West. DW is a fantastic little resort (AKA a "family resort" - what the Austrian Tourist Boards call the quieter resorts below 2000m ). It's not that high, but it is really quiet and has a a couple of good 3-4km runs. It's a good holiday base, as there are many other resorts close-by. Also has some recent lift investment.

Bad Ischl is a *long* way from a Dachstein West lift. 30-40 min drive maybe? If you're spending that long in a car to get to the slopes, there may be other resorts that you should consider too. E.g. Krippenstein http://www.dachstein-salzkammergut.com . Pretty unique - and a bit higher.

Enjoy Very Happy
