Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Insurance question

Hi Guys,

Just a quick question before I book my Ski Insurance. Going to go with Ski Club UK (£38 for basic), but will it be necessary to add Carre Neige on the lift pass when I buy the lift pass in Meribel on sunday, or will insurance on its own be ok?

Thanks.

Just had a quick look at the Carre Neige coverage and Id say that your Ski Club ski insurance should cover you adequately for off mountain rescue which seems to be the main selling point - you might want to check the amount of coverage for equipment (the budget policies can be a bit light on this) but any mountain evacuation costs/medical bills etc should be included, and watch out for the amount of the excess.

That said, when my wife had her skis stolen in Wengen a few years ago, the ski shop asked what the excess was and added it on to the receipt for the replacement pair. Given that they also told us that skis "never went missing in Wengen", they seemed pretty clued up on the insurance aspects! (and to cap it all, while we were in the shop another skier came in to say he'd had his skis nicked too)
