Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Poster: A snowHead
Following a successful journey from Claviere, Italy to Bourg St Maurice / Tignes last April , thanks to advice given by fellow Snowheads. This season I'm going to attempt Amade Region to Tignes.

Has anyone done this previously, if so could you recommend the route.

Thank you

Whereabouts will you start from? I suspect you will have to get to Salzburg first, then pick up one of the Intercity trains, but exactly where to and what kind of changes will be involved God alone knows! Have you tried the ÖBB website yet?

@Samerberg Sue,

I believe I'm now going to be working out of Zell am see for the first week of the Easter vacation. My second week plan is to meet up with UK friends in Tignes. (Otherwise I'll stay in Austria but ski a different resort)

Getting to Salzburg isn't an issue, but finding a route is an issue, have been thinking via Munich. The European traines website is currently down for maintenance.

What's the OBB website?

 Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

You are looking at 13/14 hours going via Innsbruck, Zurich and Geneva with 5 or 6 changes and anything up to 23 hours with up to 8 or 9 changes according to the Deutschebahn website (http://www.bahn.de/p/view/buchung/fahrplanundbuchung.shtml) All the routes seem to take you via Innsbruck, Zurich and Geneva. I only put in Zell am See to Bourg St-Maurice, so you'd have to get from the railway station in BSM up to Tignes by bus or taxi!
