after a rainy day on Thursday, today the sun shines.
snow everywhere, but most of the pistes are partially covered with hard packed snow.

The period of 8 days with every day sunshine has ended. Tomorrow a big dump will start with forecast between 0,5 and 1,5 m for the coming three days.
Last night some minor snowfall during a short period. Today freezing temperatures and a perfect blue sky.

Well it was bloody cold today on the pistes above Menuires after a small dump of snow overnight. We didn't venture out till about midday. As the afternoon progressed I wished I had taken my face mask (quite a few of them in evidence today) and also my glove liners and the extra layer that can be deployed under the helmet. So I blagged a teabag hand warmer that should have been used by 2013 and made the best of it. For those coming out next week be warned, today was about -8C without the windchill and the forecast seems to be much colder still.
Skiing was okay, you can now get down to the St Martin mid station, albeit the Pelozet piste is hard and icy in places. Made a visit to the Chardons Blue restaurant for a warm up, it's been nicely refurbed and the staff were looking really pleased to see some customers.
I hope the forecasted snow arrives tonight as it will greatly improve the skiing but the temps are looking mighty scary and reminiscent of our 2007 trip to Colorado when they had signs out saying "exposed flesh will freeze". Take care all!!

Last night it starts snowing and it goes on during the whole day with sometimes strong winds. Hardly any skilift and piste open. The weekly in and outgoing traffic was difficult. It seems that in the Savoie area nearly 15.000 blocked car will not reach their ski resorts today.

Snowfall during the whole day. Total snow depth since yesterday more than half meter. Temperature -10 at 2000 meter and -15 at 3000 meter. Road conditions are still worse and coming here without chains is impossible.

Again cold and sunny and some low clouds in the afternoon. Good snow, but crowded on the pistes. The air was full with floating ice crystals and against the sunlight it forms the amazing sundogs (parhelia).

In the course of the day, the beautiful blue sky disappeared gradually. There was no wind and the temperature was not as usually for January.

A very quiet Saturday. Start with a blue sky until 10.00 a.m. Rest of day was the grey, low clouds and poor visibility.

@SnowSquirrell, I suspect @123_456 is only just slighty tweaking in Lr/Ps or there is no post processing, other than maybe a crop. But I could be wrong.
