Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I'll be driving through Belgium - Luxembourg (cheap fuel) - then into Germany near to Saarbrucken. What is the best route from this point to get to Zell am See? It will early morning (4-5am) when we get to the German border near Saarbrucken on a Saturday

I go Permasens, Landau, Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, Munich, Kufstein.
The first part is off motorway, but I like the change.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@AthersT
, I would suggest either continuing along the A8 after the Inntal interchange and actually starting to go cross-country at Siegsdorf as it will mean less travelling on the normal roads in the end. Alternatively you can sometimes beat any traffic build up by turning off the Rosenheim- Kufstein route at Oberaudorf and crossing the Inn to Niederaudorf and following signs to Lofer and Saalfelden then picking up the same road from Siegsdorf.
Anyone going via Kufstein on the autobahn you must have a Vignette now from the border at Kiefersfelden; the ASFINAG cameras are checking and pulling you over from shortly after the bridge over the Inn that marks the border. The original agreement for the short section to Kufstein-Süd was put aside last season. current cost for 10 days is 8.50 Euro and as of 1st January it will be 8.70 Euro. If you are only going to Kufstein then going up the B173 towards the Wilder Kaiser resorts or St Johann in Tirol, then come of the A93 at Kiefersfelden and drive through Kufstein as you don't need a Vignette for those roads. You quickly end up at the same roundabout at the south-east side of Kufstein.
