Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Snow for snowmen? Sledding?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi. We are family looking for some easy sking - but also for just playing in! (Remember the days of snow angels, snow forts, snowball fights?)

I saw encyclopedic knowledge from Snowsarte regarding apres ski and such in the zell am ziller and mayrhofen areas. Please - would anyone advise me on the conditions for simple playing in the snow?

Are any of the toboggan/sledding runs open?

Is it any more likely to have snow around the lodgings in Mayrhofen or Zell am Ziller? Or is it better to go to Solden?

It seems to me that Zell am Ziller area in general is better for children/young adult activities? (And I still like a good snow fort myself.)

Any advice at all about best area for general 'fun in the cold/snow' will be helpful. (We currently live in a desert climate and kids just want cold air!)

We planned to fly into Munich and head to Ziller valley for a week. It's not too late for me to change plans on which area to go toward thereafter - (just hours of research invested around Innsbruck before I found your site!)

Thanks in advance!

welcome to snowheads, @jilldotchom. When are you planning to travel? Right now most of the places with enough snow to build a decent size snowman are up high - not many places where you can ski to base. But there might be some changes in the weather soon. Very uncertain; could be nice and snowy, could be freezing level at over 2000m. It's anybody's guess.
