@Philip1972, Tignes will have more snow than anywhere else in the vicinity because there is not just the glacier but a lot of high altitude skiing. There wouldn't be any point going anywhere else (that's why everyone from miles around will be heading to Tignes.... )

More skiing available in Val Thorens this week, I believe. Very good piste conditions today above 2400m, even had some nice off-piste yesterday. Not too busy (no lift queues). However, nowhere locally has lots of snow.

that's laughable - there's pretty much zero snow in Les Meniures, 'fresh' or otherwise

I don't believe anywhere in France has 50cm of FRESH snow.
I have a friend who lives in St Martin who is travelling daily to Tignes as there is no snow in St Martin
Checkout my post in the Tignes thread to see what lifts are opening this weekend. I don't think anywhere else in France will have as much mileage available.

I believe people heading to La Rosiere this weekend are being sent to Tignes each day on a bus. Sounds like Tignes is doing better than most.
