Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Specific ski hire

I'm off to Courchevel 1650 in Jan and will need to hire skis for the week. Last season I hired a pair in Verbier at the end of the season and got some 2015 atomic nomad black eyes. Absolutely loved them!! About the 7th pair I've hired in a few years (not buying until my skill levels out) and they were by far the best ive had. So has anybody got any experience in trying to hire specific skis in advance?

Yes, it's hit and miss. Skiset are actually not too bad at it in Courchevel though, so worth a try.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

A couple in my group did the specific ski hire thing in Les Arcs a few years ago and at first they just threw the next pair of skis in the pile at them. They had the paperwork and pointed out they had reserved specific skis. The guy walked out back and came back 60 seconds later with the correct skis, all wrapped up and stickered with their names.

So in my experience the Skiset thing does work, you just might have to take the paperwork with you and 'force' the point with the hire guys (who in their defence are usually just trying to get through people ASAP so they aren't queueing too long).
