Is it possible to use my 3 contract in Les Arcs as France is a " Feel at Home Destination".
From the 3 website "This means you can use your device there at no extra cost. Calls and texts back to the UK and using data will come out of your existing Pay Monthly allowance, if you have one."

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Short answer, yes.
Long answer, only for 30 days, data cap applies, only if the partner networks cover the area. Works just fine in Chamonix.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@willie5094, I found only a rather slow 2g signal in my corner of the Alps (and couldn't make it work at all in Cherbourg, rather oddly) but yes, it works, if you're not in too much of a hurry. Can't tether though.

Found on the 3 website that the roaming partners in France are Bouygues and Free Mobile, if someone could let me know if these 2 companies are available in Les Arcs.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I'm pretty sure I used mine at Easter in St Foye (just up the valley). I use it all the time in Morzine without problem.
I wasn't aware of the 30 day rule! Will need to watch that.

You'll need to Register first of course.

May be worth noting that all roaming charges are due to be abolished in the EU from 15 December 2015. Too late for the coming season, but helpful for the future - as long as we don't leave the EU.

It's 30 at a stretch and, I think, 90 over the course of a year. A bit buried in the small print. I have given up on 3 because the signal just wasn't up to it (and when I googled the problem the online discussion suggested I wasn't the only one to have this problem.
