Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I am single and was introduced to skiing last year by my them girlfriend. Unfortunately as I am now 50, a late starter, non of my friends are skiers. Does anyone know how I can get to ski and meet with others like me at a resort? Will

Check out the Snowheads Bashes on the events page - many of us (myself included) are singles that go on them

Also check out the solos skier thread Toofy Grin

Go on a chalet holiday - you will meet lots of like minded individuals in some countries they will host you on the mountain once you can ski a red run (or similar). Some companies do offer a 'male share' so there is no single occupancy supplement to pay. Welcome to Snowheads by the way. Other than that join a specific course with a company like Snoworks - at this time of year they take over hotels so you will have lots of folk in the same boat.

I'd just sign up for a bash. Loads of singles, loads of couples, loads of different standards of skiers. The EoSB particularly will probably be a good one for you, with the quality and price of the lessons available you will find your skiing improves significantly while enjoying a good holiday with loads of other people you will meet and get on with, plus from the lessons you will probably find ski buddies of similar ability in your group.

I always book a few days lessons with the TO when I book as I'm a solo skier good way to meet others and they may well be staying at the same hotel.

Always meet people and have a good time.

Hi @willnotts1964,

We offer catered chalets in the Paradiski area and we have no-single-supplement deals on regularly, as well as a few single rooms which never carry a supplement. Details via the link below - and feel free to e-mail if you'd like to know which weeks have other solo skiiers booked in.

Happy planning!
Heather

@willnotts1964, Another vote for the snowHeads Bashes - I've met some great folks to ski with, I've been on 3 over the past couple of seasons and they're great value and fun. Also, try singlesports.com, I've been on a couple of their trips too... Cervinia back in April this year, and Kaprun just last month. I'm also going to Winter Park (Denver, Colorado, USA) at the end of January with them. Again, great skiing and company.

Also, consider the Ski Club of Great Britain's leader/ambassador service or Freshtracks holidays aimed at singles. You'd fit into the demographic quite well

I believe Cold Fusion Chalets in Chamonix(?) specialise in trips for singles.

@willnotts1964, Might be worth having a look at Friendship Travel. www.friendshiptravel.com

Their groups have been in a couple of Mark Warner hotels that we have stayed in. Singles seems to be their speciality. Very Happy

@willnotts1964, I've done it several times too. I've used a smaller chalet operator and especially if you can leave it lateish to book then you can get some idea of the mix of folk going (at least to make sure they are not all necessarily one big group and you are odd one out). Did this with @Snow and Sunshine's outfit last season in a chalet with a couple of couples plus I think four of us travelling singly, we had a great time and no single supplement the week I chose. The season before that I went with Mountainsun to Italy, again no single supplement and met up with a good group and had a great time. Plus of course I would +1 for bashes, will be on the BB yet again this season, happy days!
You could also team up with @Millie10 who is asking similar question under The Piste.
