Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

App - SkiBlackbox. How do I use it?

Hi all, I'm new to using a ski app & have downloaded SkiBlackbox, but I don't want to get a big mobile bill. Do I need internet for it to work? if so I will buy a data bundle before I go on holiday which will be cheaper. Does it just run on GPS without using data?

Most of these apps can operate on GPS alone, UNLESS they are pulling down map data too.
That being said, it can depend on which network you're with and country you're visiting.

With three and their 'feel at home' deal, I have free data, the same as with my normal UK contract in a number of countries including France

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

several resorts have free wifi at major lifts too. log on once, and every time you pass thru the lift it'll update whatever needs updating. but whether the phone lasts all day with gps+wifi active is another matter.
most only need gps only, and I keep data off.
no idea about skiblackbox since that seems to be a windows app?

I'm going to be in Superdevoluy in the French southern Alps & I'm with Tesco mobile (they use the o2 network). Thanks for the advice, I'll turn off my data & leave on my wifi & hope for the best.
