50 - 80cm according to meteo.chamonix.com, Snow-forecast have 16cm!!
Will be interesting to see who is closer!!

I assume your looking at Cham? down the valley snow-forecast are saying 25cm Avoriaz, to be fair meteo.cham are saying 30-40 today, 10-20 overnight, 10-20 Sat....

I am looking at Megeve Snow Forecast which is in the Chamonix Valley, Avoriaz is not. Yes the 50 - 80 figure is the sum of Today, Tonight Tomorrow as is the Snow Forecast accumulation of 16cm. i.e. This is comparing like with like

Megeve is not in the Chamonix valley, though it's pretty near as the crow flies and certainly nearer than Avoriaz. Megeve is in the Arly Valley.

it is dumping snow between Saas Fee and Lausanne - seeing as Avoriaz got a mention there are some more places - drove it this afternoon

Thanks for that, yes I should have specified Mt Blanc Massif area rather than the Chamonix Valley (forecast is for both), I always refer to the Chamonix Valley when I head past Sallanches even if I do take a right turn for a couple of mins.

Hate to say this but looks like snow-forecast called it. 40cm in the Aravis (did this make it over to the Chablais?) but between 0-20cm elsewhere. Meteo Chance had issued an "orange" level snow alert which was a bit exteme in the end. However ever since they missed a hurrican and serious flooding they tend to play it safe. Cynics are suggesting that the forecasts had more to do with the start of the holiday season than real snow prospects.
One thing is sure, the conditions off-piste remain a bit yuck round here - we were skiing through 3cm of breakable rain crust on Saturday - actually strike the world skiing and replace with "descending as best we could".

Still great here, so much so that when I hit a small section of breakable crust this afternoon it took me totally by surprise

Nope, I've checked most of the models and no snow forecast for Western Alps for pretty much the rest of the year
