Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Transfer bus from moutiers to les menuires?

 Poster: A snowHead

Hi,

I am hoping someone could give me some advice. We are travelling to moutiers on the eurostar which arrives at 18.15, and we're wanting to book a connecting bus up to Les Menuires. However the latest bus available to book online leaves at 18.00. Does this mean that there are no buses later than this time, or do they run later and you can pay the driver? Any advise on this or any other cost effective way of getting to Les Menuires would be great.

Many thanks

Helen.

Trains in the Alps are ussually late ... Did moutiers to meribel last year and transfer with minibus was the best solution

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Altibus do (or did last year) run a service that meets up with the eurostar - http://altibus.com/navettes-speciales-eurostar-rp87.aspx
Last season's timetable is here - http://www.altibus.com/uploads/Eurostar_Shuttle_20132014.pdf

I'd check with them to see if they are running it this season.

If it doesn't turn up it is usually easy enough to find a taxi in Moutiers.

Thanks for your replies,

skichampcouk have you used this service before? If so how did you book the tickets as the website doesn't give me an option to book for this connection. Have emailed them but
no response as yet.

many thanks Helen

@HELEN FRANK, You can normally buy the tickets in Moutiers at the ticket office in the bus station, it is right next door to the TGV station. map here - http://altibus.com/documents/gares/14/plan_gare.pdf
The ticket office looks like it is open until 21:30 on a Saturday, there is also a number to call just to check it is running, they usually speak English. (Tél.:+33 (0)4 79 24 24 46) - http://altibus.com/gare/moutiers-rg14.aspx

@HELEN FRANK, The new Altibus eurostar Navette timetable is now out but it looks like they are only running the late bus (19:00) from Moutiers to Les Menuires on the 14th and 22nd February. - http://www.altibus.com/uploads/Eurostar_Shuttle_20142015.pdf

Did they respond to your email or did you phone them?

Thanks for the updated timtable, I did get a reply from atibus via email, stating there are no more buses after 18:00. Therefore I spoke to eurostar who kindley let me chage to the night train for cost of the difference in ticket prices.
I think its poor that there are no connecting buses catering for all the tourists / skiers that will be arriving on the day time eurostar, so anyone travelling on this service beware it will be taxi or private transfers only.
thanks to everyone for your help.
