Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Atomic Thoery's/the best all mountain ski this season?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
It's time for me to buy some new all mountain skis and I am weighing up my options. I have recently been skiing on Salomon 1080's which I really liked. In some reviews I have been reading the Atomic Theory skis look like the best option.

Has anyone skis on these and has any thoughts on them? Or does anyone have any recommendations for a decent ski that can handle the powder and well as shredding the piste?

Look forward to any feedback.

There are many great options, I think. But some more details about your skiing style, ability level, hight/weight etc. would be much appreciated. The Theory is an all-mountain twintip. Any reason that the ski you're looking for is a twintip?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks for the reply.

A bit about me - I have been a slalom and GS racer my whole life, not a great park guy but enjoy the little tricks etc, so without sounding cocky I am pretty advanced. I am 1m 75cm and weigh around 75kg.

I am attracted to the all mountain twin tip because I love skiing powder but also enjoy a 180 or 360 in the park!

I hope that helps!

Than how about the Nordica Soulrider or the Blizzard Peacemaker? Bothe great all-mountain twins with real stability for technically advanced skiers. A bit wider, but nontheless quick enough for great piste-days. They both have a bit more pop than the Theory. If you really like the Atomic feel, though, check out the Ritual. Also a bit more beefy, but I think you'll enjoy it more. Al these suggestions have slightly higher top ends performance-wise that the Theory.
