Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Are these any good in comparison to the latest fat skis (I know they aren't super fat!)?

Never skied them, those that have like them on the whole. For swallow tails the hucksters prefer the Sanouk although it is often considered to be too soft. I skied the Sanouks and didn't think they were that soft, but I pretty much only skied powder on them Very Happy

The AK Labs are a good comparison as a powder only ski. They handle well enough on the piste compared to something like a Spatula. So yes, they are a little more freeride than, say, a Fat-ypus.

Why?

hell yes! Well, depends what price... If you decide not to let me know Wink

They would be an amazing quiver ski, I would buy it happily without testing it or other similar skis, as long as the price is right. You can't really loose, they're no where near as combersome as as a fat-ypus and far less freaky than a Spat and will give you a faceache you've never dreamed of on a powder day.

You're in the US, no?

You need these skis. Twisted Evil

these aren't the swallow tails - they are an earlier model and "only" 86mm in the waist. Thought they might complement my Stormirider XLs though Toofy Grin
