Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

hi all
I'm thinking about buying boots and ski's for the rare chance of Irish snow, its happened the last few years!
So the thought hit me, maybe this year, might be a good time to buy second hand boots and skis off the ski hire shop in the off chance we get snow in Ireland, and I can be equipped to deal with the snow
Advancing this theory, a set of seal skins would be necessary as there isn't any ski lifts in Ireland
I know this is daft, but if you can get cheap gear and your average ski holiday costs €500+
Then if you can get skis and boots for under €200 ex rental, then when the snow comes your are prepared!
for a good ROI
anyone any views ?
anyone buy ex rental gear of the ski hire shops ?
Thanks

Well, in my experience they'll only sell what's left of last year's kit at the start of the next season, and the current year's kit after the busy school holiday period and/or Easter. So unless you're on holiday in December or April it's probably not worth thinking about.
