Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

hi all
we are looking for some suggestions for somewhere we can go in January the first week 3rd or 4th to the 10th/11th. we will either drive or train it, so ideally a resort as close as possible to these suggestions. we have a friend in La Tania for the season so ideally wanted to go see him but the costs of lift pass and accommodation we have found is over the price as we are on a tight budget so all the help is appreciated. look forward to your suggestions.

First search brings up - Crystal Ski, Flight, accommodation, transfer on the date you want to La Tania for £377 (based on 9 staying - drop down menu doesn't go up to 10) - lift pass extra £245, but there's some 2 for 1 deal advertised on some accom in some areas.. IIRC they used to do a free spot if you booked more than a certain number. Anyway it's not going to get a lot cheaper unless you do a last minute deal, but that would be risky with 10 of you......

hammy1846at4, It's a long drive or a longer train journey... but is possible... we have some snowHead's staying that week too so a bit of friendly company!

How about Bardoneccia? It's only 4½ hours direct by TGV from the Gare de Lyon and the station is right in the town. Reasonable lift passes too:

Even though liftpass is high this is a god offer, as eating out can either be very terrible or terrible expencive snowHead

Hi Hammy the company we are booked with does La rosiere which is about an hour from La Tania...Check this though for winter driving. With Catered accommodation and lift pass for 6 days includes it is £600

hi,if you are group of 10, for you much better is to choose private transfer, it will be more easy and simple for you and .. actually, costs some times are more cheper like to go with train, busses etc.
