Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Weekend before Christmas in Italy

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I am trying to plan a ski weekend going out on the 12/13th December from Dublin and so far the Bergamo flight is cheapest and has the best times. I was thinking of going to Passo Tonale but wonder if it would be a bit limited. We are three strong intermediates who like covering a lot in a day and a bit of off piste too.
I have also thought about Cervinia but was the before and while the town was lovely the skiing was not great.

Any suggestions?

maddness, Livigno has a good ski area that should appeal to you, and because of its altitude has a good snow record (which is an important consideration if you are going mid December). It also for historical reasons is a duty free area so drinks are quite cheap (not that that is probably a consideration for you... wink ). Lift pass prices here
The only downside is that because of its location the transfer from Bergamo is long - the tour operarator coach I was on took about 4 hours (although that included a midway toilet and coffee stop).

What makes you think that? The first link I gave you says that the opening is 23rd November! The 2nd link (with skipass prices) shows a special reduced rate from the opening until 19th Dec (and from 11th April till the end of the season). Puzzled

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Sorry Alastair, my mistake!
Thanks for the info, might be a bit too far to drive as we are only there for three days.
