Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Getting to La Thuile from La Rosiere

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi there,

Can someone tell me if you can get from La Ros to La Thuile, and back again, just on chair lifts, or do you have to use drag lifts.

I am a boarder and HATE using drags - always seem to face plant off them!

Looking at going to La Rosiere, but would want to use the whole area....easily!

Have looked at the piste map, but can't quite figure out what is going on at the top of the mountains.

Many thanks

lottster, 1 drag, it is a very easy drag, just quite long, about 9 mins.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

The problem is that if you fall off that drag, you're in the middle of nowhere. It doesn't follow the side of a piste. I found it knackering on skis I must admit... not sure I'd be too fond of it if I'd been boarding that day!

Mr Pieholeo, agreed. There are a couple of flat spots in la Thuile and a couple of tracks, but also some great skiing.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

We had boarders with us this year in La Rosiere, one of them on his second week on a board! He did moan a bit but did it most days Laughing

lottster, go to La Thuile and there wouldn't be any need to go to La Rosiere. Problem solved. Toofy Grin

As above, there is a very long (2km) drag that is unavoidable. It's not fast or steep though.

Riding drags is part of snowboarding! If you can't ride 'em, you can't ride!

I'm a La Ros local, PM me if you need any more info.

The drag is nothing compared to the torture of the worlds coldest slowest chairlift that takes you back to las Ros from la thuille.
Apart from that, great resort, we had a great week in la Ros two years ago.

+1 on that chairlift back over tis a bit nippy on that one some days. As others have said it's a pretty easy one although long. Can't wait to go back for new year.

We had a newbie boarder in La Ros this year (apart from a few lessons at Hemel). We took him over to La Thuile on his first day on real snow. Pleased to say that he is now talking to us again! Seriously though, he managed the drag without any difficulty but did struggle on the paths which are also a feature of La Ros.
