Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Esprit package in Selva cancelled next season!

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Just had a call from Esprit that due to a change in the property law in Italy, they're no longer allowed to offer catered chalets in Selva so our holiday is now cancelled!

Apparently only Hotels, B&B or SC apartments are allowed so their entire offering in the resort (several catered chalets with central childcare) is torpedoed!

Anyone else suffered due to this or know anything else about it? no info on their website...

They've offered us alternatives in France but as it was Feb 1/2 term, options are running out and The Dolomites is far and away our preferred destination.

Any more info on the "law change" appreciated but more importantly, any info on how to do a family holiday in The Dolomites (with young kids who need childcare and ski-school) would be very welcome!

Bah!

Same happened in Arabba this season with their sister companies Inghams and Ski Total, they had to close the chalets that they had there and send guests elsewhere. Interestingly Ski Total are still showing their catered chalet in Selva on their website. Might be worth a post on their facebook page, see what they say?

When was the holiday booked? I am amazed that the TO didn't anticipate the change. Usually this sort of changes take time to go through the approval process and are hardly a surprise..

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

jma, there was a couple of posts about this on here towards the middle of last season, I think people expecting to have chalets in Dolomites had been moved elsewhere at short notice.

jma, Collett's still seem to be operating chalets and chalet hotels in Corvara but are offering serviced apartments with meals in a local restaurant in Arabba.

albob, that was my assumption too as can find no reference whatsoever anywhere on t'interweb to a law change and, suspiciously, one of their properties is advertised on a site i've never seen before: skieuropeonline.co.uk

jma, which one is your chalet? (soldanella is showing on ski-total site)

Ski-europe-online look to be an 'agency' rather than on operator

 You know it makes sense.
You know it makes sense.
It was Chalet Waldeck - a quick google of Chalet Waldeck Selva brings up skieuropeonline but as you say, it looks like an aggregator or agency...might give them a call anyway
